Stamping the Countryside

It was announced this week that the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics will recreate the countryside with live sheep, village cricket and maypole dancing.  I think I need to see it before I can decide what I think.  In the meantime I've been stamping with my new Hobby Art Stamps (set CS048D British Countryside).

Stamping is not something I do a lot of so I've experimented a bit.  I love this stamp set as you can create so many different image.  This one was coloured using my promarkers, I don't have a wide range of colours so was really pleased I was able to complete it.

I coloured the background on this using Distress Inks

Finally, here's a finished piece, just in time for Father's Day! I coloured the houses using promarkers again, but for the rest I used chalk.  Simple, quick and effective...ideal. These stamps are great for 'male' cards, I always struggle but with these stamps I can see endless options.

  1. Did you use a blender tool or brush with your distress inks? The split between the purple and blue is really sharp - mine never is!

    1. I use an Ink Duster from Inkylicious. I use a mask to cover one half on the image while I ink it in one colour then mask the inked side and repeat. This keeps the line sharp.
